Growing up, Eric took piano lessons, but due to a lack of insight at the time, he stopped taking them. It was only a few years later in 2005 that it was time for him to choose an instrument to play for fifth grade band class. Since his brothers played brass instruments, his sister played flute, and the clarinet didn’t appeal to him, he chose the saxophone.

Since then, Eric has been in college at Azusa Pacific University, and has studied with Rusty Higgins for saxophone and Tom Hynes for Composition. Eric has played with various groups such as theThe Teryn Ré Big Band, The Danny Freyer Big Band, Missus Jones, The APU Jazz Ensemble, Citrus Blue Note Jazz Orchestra, The San Dimas Jazz Workshop, and The Jazz Masters. Eric has performed at different venues such as: The Stardust Club, The Mint, Steamers, The State Social House, The Avalon, The Lighthouse, Saint Rocke, The Langham Hotel, and The Baked Potato. Eric also plays for various musical theatre productions, and even played for the world premier of an original comedic musical entitled “A Self-Help Guide To Killing Your Boss,” in summer 2016. Eric is currently the saxophonist for the groups Happy Medium and The Posse. He also recently played for the world premier of the original comedic musical entitled “A Self-Help Guide To Killing Your Boss.” Eric also had the opportunity to revisit Idyllwild, and teach at the 2015 Idyllwild Arts Summer Jazz Camp. He also has taught and given clinics at different schools such as Pioneer Junior High, Upland Junior High, Upland High School, William Workman High School, Los Osos High School, Ramona Middle School, and more. Currently, Eric continues to gig in Los Angeles and surrounding areas in a variety of settings such as musical theater, recording sessions, live performances, etc. Eric also teaches private lessons and writes music to round out his career.
