Since his brothers played brass instruments, his sister played flute, and the clarinet didn’t appeal to him, he chose the saxophone.
Since then, Eric has been in college at Azusa Pacific University, and has studied with Rusty Higgins for saxophone and Tom Hynes for Composition. Eric has played with various groups such as theThe Teryn Ré Big Band, The Danny Freyer Big Band, Missus Jones, The APU Jazz Ensemble, Citrus Blue Note Jazz Orchestra, The San Dimas Jazz Workshop, and The Jazz Masters.
